HOPE

I am familiar with every pain, 
I can’t even feel anger, 
My pains drowned, 
My thoughts in shackles. 

I am familiar with the earth, 
Being a refugee, 
Not like a cemetery, 
But not very different either. 
Caught in its spell, 
I seek peace, 
What is forbidden to us, 
The work of those like us. 

Lost in losses, 
I am chasing a trail, 
Echoing with every step, 
My forgotten dreams. 
The tears in my eyes, 
As deep as a sea, 
The screams in my dreams, 
A melody blending into eternity. 
I was once full of hope, 
Growing in the warmth of the sun, 
Now chasing shadows, 
In dark thoughts. 
The storms inside me, 
Envelop my soul, 
And I, a lost ship, 
I am tossed among the waves. 

I observe this world, 
In the silence of the nightingales, 
Life is like a labyrinth, 
I am lost while searching for the exit. 

Every journey is an adventure, 
But every stop, a separation, 
Between love and longing, 
Wounds open in my heart. 

And I, in these lands, 
I am learning the language of loneliness, 
Every pain, like a lesson, 
And every loss, a love story. 
Who knows, maybe one day, 
In my broken heart, 
A light will rise again, 
In the shadow of hopelessness. 

Sometimes I delve into the past, 
As memories come back one by one, 
Once upon a time, with smiles, 
Now filled with sadness. 
Even the stars are dim, 
Lost in the bosom of the night, 
I am looking for hope, 
Waiting on the opposite shore.

But still, 
A glimmer of hope burns inside me, 
Each new day, 
A new beginning, 
Perhaps the wounds, 
Will scab over in time. 

And as I proceed on this path, 
Gaining strength from the pain in my heart, 
I will get back up every time I fall, 
To be reborn, 
In the embracing arms of life.
